Naturalis Aequitas Common Law Community (NACLC)
Membership Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions set out the basis upon which individuals may apply for and participate as members of the Naturalis Aequitas Common Law Community (NACLC), an unincorporated private members association.
By creating an account or participating in NACLC, each Member acknowledges and agrees to the following:
1. Purpose of the Community
NACLC exists as a private membership community for education, research, discussion, and mutual support in relation to common law, equity, and related legal and civic concepts.
All materials and discussions are provided for general educational purposes and do not constitute legal advice.
2. Membership and Participation
Membership is granted at the discretion of NACLC. Members are expected to participate in good faith, engage respectfully, and contribute to a constructive and lawful environment.
3. Transparency and Disclosure at Onboarding
To preserve the integrity of the community, applicants are required to be transparent regarding their purpose for joining.
At the time of account creation, each Member confirms that:
- Participation is for genuine educational, research, or community purposes;
- No undisclosed intent exists to monitor, disrupt, investigate, or otherwise act adversely toward the community or its Members;
- Any professional, organisational, or institutional affiliation relevant to the Member’s participation, where it may reasonably give rise to a perceived conflict of purpose, must be disclosed.
This obligation is intended to maintain trust and clarity within a private membership environment.
4. Ongoing Good Faith Participation
Members acknowledge that circumstances may change. Where a Member’s role, affiliation, or purpose evolves in a way that may affect participation in the community, the Member agrees to act transparently and in good faith.
5. Acceptable Use
Members agree not to misuse the community or its resources. This includes refraining from:
- Misrepresenting identity or purpose;
- Using the community for covert, undisclosed, or adversarial activities;
- Collecting or using information obtained through the community in a manner inconsistent with its purpose;
- Engaging in conduct that is unlawful or harmful to other Members.
6. Responsibility and Indemnity
Membership is based on mutual trust and accurate disclosure.
Where a Member (or any associated organisation or third party acting in connection with that Member) has materially misrepresented or failed to disclose relevant purpose or affiliation at the time of joining, and such conduct results in loss or disruption to NACLC or its Members, the Member agrees to be responsible for that impact.
In such circumstances, the Member agrees that any resulting dispute regarding responsibility or compensation may be resolved through private, binding arbitration agreed between the parties, with outcomes treated as contractually binding.
7. Privacy and Community Expectations
Members are expected to respect the privacy and confidence of other participants. Information shared within the community should not be disclosed externally without consent.
8. Membership Management
NACLC may suspend or terminate membership where participation is inconsistent with these Terms or the purpose of the community.
Any obligations that arise prior to termination, including those relating to responsibility for conduct, continue to apply.
9. Dispute Resolution
Where issues arise, Members agree to first seek resolution in good faith. If necessary, matters may be referred to private arbitration as agreed between the parties.
10. Acceptance
By creating an account and participating in NACLC, the Member confirms that these Terms have been read and accepted, and that all information provided is accurate to the best of the Member’s knowledge.
